Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems by moving, stretching and massaging a person's muscles and joints. Most frequently an Osteopath treats problems with the musculo-skeletal system (muscles, joints, ligament, tendons and fascia). The treatment is hands on, gentle and tailored to your problem.
Osteopathy offers a gentle way to help relieve pain and stiffness without the need for medication and or invasive treatments such as surgery.

What to Expect At The First Consultation
The initial consultation takes longer. We will take a full case history, asking questions about your problem and your past medical history.
We will then need to examine the area that you are having problems with, this may require the removal of some clothing. Please bring loose shorts or a camisole type top to wear, if you feel it would make you more comfortable. You will never be asked to remove any underwear. We will then discuss with you what we have found and how we can help. With your agreement we will then carry out a full treatment.
Osteopathy Just For You
All age groups can benefit from treatment, as the treatment plan is adapted to suit each patient. Louise has treated patients from a week old to nearly 100 years of age. The treatment modality is chosen suit the age of the patient as well as the condition being treated. There are often several different ways to treat a problem and Louise will discuss this with you.
Treatment from an Osteopath can be given either independently or in conjunction with your doctor’s treatment. It is not necessary to see your doctor before consulting an Osteopath, however if you are unsure, talk to your doctor first or phone up and ask for advice.
Lifestyle and body “mot” check
If you have already been treated for a painful condition, particularly if it is due to your work or lifestyle, you may benefit from a regular check up. These checks allow Louise to treat underlying problems before they become trouble-some causing you unnecessarily suffering at some time in the future. Preventative treatment, exercise and advice of this kind can be an investment in your long term health. Louise can give you advice on this.
